With truly stylish vocals, the CD - Laura's second - pays tribute to screen dancers and the classic composers who gave their feet wings. She recalls some of the more famous dances of idols including Fred Astaire, Ann Miller and Sammy Davis Jr. with jazz interpretations of music and lyrics by Cole Porter, The Gershwins, Johnny Mercer, Irving Berlin, Burton Lane, Richard Whiting and Jerome Kern. The title of this fresh recording is taken from the written studio review of Fred Astaire’s screen test in 1933: “Can’t act. Slightly bald. Also dances.”
